Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 August 2026

This policy describes how the Grand Prairie Fire Department Operations Platform at gpfire.org handles personal information. The system is an internal tool for department personnel. It is not a consumer service and it collects no information from the general public.

Collection and Use of Tracking Information

Records are created by the department, not collected from visitors. GPFIRE.org uses cookies to collect data each time a user enters and moves from one page the next within the web application. The information gathered falls into categories such as:

Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable in plain text. We also keep access and audit logs recording which account performed which action, which is a records-retention requirement for safety-equipment compliance.

Where it comes from

From official City of Grand Prairie personnel records, entered by a department administrator. There is no public sign-up, no self-service registration, and no import of externally sourced data. We have never purchased, rented or otherwise acquired a contact list.

How we use it

We do not sell personal information, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use it for any commercial purpose. It is not transferred to third parties except the infrastructure providers that host the system.

Email and tracking

Email sent by this system is plain text. It carries no open-tracking pixels, and no link in it is rewritten for click tracking. We have no way to tell whether you opened a message, and no wish to.

Delivery failures and spam complaints are reported back to us by our mail provider so that we can correct a wrong address or stop sending to someone. That is the only feedback we collect about email.

Retention

Operational and compliance records are retained in line with the department's records-retention obligations. Session records and authentication logs are purged automatically on a rolling schedule.

Your choices

Because these are employment records for a system your role requires, account records cannot simply be deleted on request. However:

As a Texas governmental body, records held by the department may be subject to the Texas Public Information Act.
